Travel Insurance

Protect Your Journey Before You Go

Travel insurance is highly recommended for every trip.

You've invested time, money, and excitement into your vacation. Unexpected events can happen before or during your travels, and travel insurance can help protect your trip investment and provide assistance when plans don't go as expected.

At Your Journey by Jodi, I strongly recommend considering travel insurance when planning your trip.

Why Consider Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance may provide coverage for certain unexpected situations, including:

  • Trip cancellation Protection for certain covered reasons that require you to cancel your trip before departure.
  • Trip interruption Coverage that may help with certain covered expenses if you need to interrupt your trip after it begins.
  • Travel medical expenses Help with certain medical expenses resulting from covered illness or injury while traveling.
  • Emergency medical evacuation Coverage that may help with certain covered emergency transportation expenses.
  • Baggage loss, damage, or theft Protection for eligible baggage losses under the terms of the policy.
  • Baggage delays Reimbursement for certain necessary purchases when baggage is delayed for a covered period.
  • Travel delays Coverage that may help with certain additional expenses resulting from a covered travel delay.
  • Missed connections Certain plans may provide coverage when a covered delay causes you to miss a connection.
  • Emergency travel assistance Access to assistance services when unexpected situations occur during your trip.
  • Unexpected changes to your travel plans Depending on the plan and circumstances, coverage may help with certain covered changes or disruptions.

Travel insurance does not cover every situation. Coverage, exclusions, limitations, eligibility requirements, and purchase deadlines vary by plan and state of residence. Always review the applicable policy and plan documents before purchasing.

Which Plan Is Right for You?

There is no single travel insurance plan that is right for every traveler.

Your choice may depend on:

  • The total cost of your trip
  • Whether you're traveling domestically or internationally
  • Your destination
  • The length of your trip
  • Your planned activities
  • Your medical coverage while traveling
  • The amount of nonrefundable money you've invested
  • Your desired medical and evacuation coverage
  • Your baggage coverage needs
  • Whether you want optional coverage such as Cancel for Any Reason, when available
  • Your individual circumstances and coverage needs

I am happy to help you understand the options available for your trip, but you are responsible for reviewing the policy and determining whether the coverage meets your needs.

Timing Matters

Consider purchasing travel insurance as soon as you make your initial trip payment.

Some benefits or waivers may have specific purchase deadlines.

For example, Travel Guard currently states that eligibility for its pre-existing medical condition exclusion waiver can depend on purchasing the plan within a specified period after the initial trip payment, along with other requirements.

Because deadlines and eligibility requirements can vary, don't wait until the last minute to explore your options.
